The Eric Massa story continues.
The story starts last week, when Massa, (D-NY) a freshman Congressman, was implicated in a potential sex scandal. It came to light that he may have made inappropriate advances towards a male staffer. A few days later, Massa came out with a statement saying that he would resign on the following Monday. That yes, he uses extremely foul language in his inner office, and that the blame lies with him about it.
But now, a new story. However, it’s a same old story. Massa is a “no” vote on Forced Universal Health Care. He has been in the past, and he continues to be now. The Obama Administration has already stated, in all sorts of language, that they will do whatever it takes to pass their Statist agenda. Now, Massa is saying that the administration is behind this story – that the supposed “inappropriate advance” is total nonsense, and that House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) is guilty of leaking the story, and perpetuating the myth.
Massa claims that it is not a string of incidents, but rather an incident. One. At a wedding of a Massa staffer on New Years Eve, and (my words) of guys being goofs (as more comes out about this story, the more that “guys being goofs” is just not the case.) Massa’s wife was not feeling well, and they both left the wedding to go back to the hotel room. Massa then comes back to the party to sing “Auld Lang Syne.” He dances with the bride, with a bridesmaid and then joins a table of staffers – all men, and all single (except for Massa.) One of the staffers turns to Massa, and jokes that Massa should make his move on the bridesmaid. Massa then, according to his account, “…grabbed the staff member sitting next to me and I said, ‘What I really ought to be doing is frakking you,’ and then tossled the guy’s hair and left, went to my room, because I knew the party was getting to a point where I shouldn’t be there.”
Massa went on a radio station to explain this story:
Stories are now coming out regarding run-ins with Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, including in the gym showers. Massa is clear in his most recent statements – the Obama Administration has launched this probe, and has made it public (and leaked it!) in order to force him out of Congress because he is voting no on their Statist prize – Forced Universal Health Care.
Where is the truth? What is the fiction? What can be believed? Why is it happening?
Massa, one would think, has a long way to go in proving any legitimacy in this claim. He already came out last week and announced that he would be resigning. He mentioned some health issues (a recurrence of cancer.) He already admitted that he owns this reality. There is a very open and shut case that can be told about Massa. This latest outburst could be spun as the last gasps of a dying man. An angry, bitter, defeated and somewhat out of control man.
But the story is too close to the reality we already know about. The Administration will stop at nothing to pass Healthcare. Rahm Emanuel is known as a pit bull, with a history of obscenity-laden tirades and a remarkably gruff style (even President Obama has joked about Emanuel’s profanity.) It seems to be well within the realm of possibilities that Massa has been hung out to dry by the Administration. That Rep. Hoyer did leak the probe before it was concluded. That there is a concentrated effort to get rid of him, so that his vote can not stop the House from passing any convoluted version of Forced Universal Healthcare they wish.
The Statist agenda fits this story. Nothing can get in the way of their desired goals. The ends always justifies the means. The possible ruiniation of a man’s career is small potatoes, especially when you consider that the administration is willing to destroy Capitalism to provide less effective health insurance to people who are already have the health insurance of their choice (all in the guise of helping others,) and throw others in jail if they don’t buy health insurance.
Massa is now reconsidering his resignation. If he does stay in the House, one has to wonder if he will reconsider the “D” after his name, as well.
*****NOTE*****
Rep. Massa did resign, as he said he would, which is strange if his stories are true. He then went on Glenn Beck’s show on FOXNews, and proceeded to look foolish. Michelle Malkin has done a great job in exposing the past of Massa as well.
I asked in the post, “Where is the truth? What is the fiction? What can be believed?” So far, the only thing we know for sure is that Massa is one strange fellow.

The moment exists, in all of us, when you see something, hear something, sense something, and, without being consciously aware of it, you say to yourself, yet out loud:
“What the hell are they talking about?!”
Such a moment has now come for millions of Americans, after the twisted editorial in USA TODAY by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD).
The editorial, entitled, “Un-American attacks can’t derail health care debate” is a hit piece at Americans who disagree with Forced Universal Health Care. Poorly wrapped in the guise of being a primer as to why there should be Forced Universal Health Care, the editorial is an attack on everyday Americans who, of their own volition, go to town hall meetings and let their voices be heard.
Speaker Pelosi and Rep. Hoyer are still pushing a party line that is failing. They state in their article, quite amazingly, that there are, “….Americans strongly supporting health insurance reform.” Yet a Rasmussen poll disagrees with their assessment. Also disagreeing with them is the massive attendance at the Town Halls. It is this level of disagreement that forces the Speaker to write an editorial in USA TODAY to make their case. If a majority of Americans agreed with the Speaker and the Majority Leader, would they have wasted their time writing the editorial in the first place?
The issue with the hit piece, however, is the assumption that those who disagree are Un-American. It was just the other day that Sen. Boxer (D-CA) claimed that those who attend the town halls in disagreement are part of the “Brooks Brothers” brigade – too well dressed to be seen as serious. Then, it was Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) who referred to those who disagree with him, and voice their opinions, as a mob. Then, it was Speaker Pelosi who declared that those who disagree with Forced Universal Health Care have been showing up with swastikas. (To date, she has provided no proof of this claim.) And now, the hit piece in USA TODAY.
Millions of Americans are forced to ask aloud, “What the hell are they talking about?”
If support existed for Forced Universal Health Care, it would have passed. All of the town halls in the world could not have stopped it. Speaker Pelosi, and her fellow Democrats, control the House, the Senate and the White House. If they believe so strongly in it, if Americans believe so strongly in it, they could pass it right now. Nothing can stop them.
So why all the histrionics? Why the constant attacks, and foolhardy double speak? (The Tea Party protestors are both rednecks AND members of the Brooks Brother’s Brigade? Hey Statists, compare your talking points, and get back to us. OK?)
It’s simple: America does not want Forced Universal Health Care. They don’t believe in government control of healthcare, and they do not believe that Congress has the best interests of the people in mind. Want proof? We’re in the middle of a recession, and Speaker Pelosi is spending $500 million for luxury jets. The Speaker is completely out of touch, and proves it everyday. She is out of touch regarding Forced Universal Health Care. America is speaking loudly – and that is what bothers her (and the rest of Congress, regardless of their side of the aisle) the most. Our “leaders” have lost the ability to control the people, as the people are starting to remember who they are.
Americans who have forgotten their roots are beginning to realize the history that precedes them. They remember that Liberty and Freedom are not just words in the dictionary, but ideals that must be worked for and fought for. They don’t believe that government is the answers to their problems. They believe in a small government of, by and for the people. They believe in Capitalism, and free markets.
And many of them have been seeing something, hearing something, sensing something, and, have become consciously aware of it. And now they say it to their Representatives, their Senators, and the Administration, out loud:
“What the hell are you talking about?”

The media basis for Forced Universal Health Care (the concept sold to us via MSM) is simple: health care costs too much. Doctors are robbing you blind. Insurance companies are robbing you blind. Big evil corporations don’t care about you. You have a right to health care. Government is the answer. Government is the way to fix healthcare. All praise President Obama, for his plan is the right plan.
To ensure that we understand how important health care is, I refer you to President Obama’s July 22nd prime time press conference (his fourth in six months), and his incredibly telling (and tall) tale regarding your child’s tonsils.
The President starts by telling a tale about you having a sore throat. Then, in a matter of a few seconds, he changes it to your child having a sore throat – repeated sore throats…chronic sore throats. Once he has established the story that will most affect your heart strings, he then gets diabolical, as if he was ghost writing for Stephen King. The President – in a clear voice – then suggests that a doctor will look at the re-imbursement chart, and decide that he can make the most money by taking out your child’s tonsils. The President continues, saying that this surgery could have been avoided if the doctor, maybe, changed your child’s allergy medicine. Because, in the President’s made up tale of woe, your child has allergies.
Translation: “Doctors are greedy, scumbag bastards who will slice and dice your beautiful child for a few bucks. But I, the President, the Hope we have all waited for, and the beautiful Government, won’t let that happen to your beautiful child. An unnecessary surgery could be avoided if your doctor had listened to a big time Constitutional Law lecturer, instead.”
It is important to remember, throughout this exercise that the President put us through last night, that the scenario Obama laid out has a fatal flaw. It Isn’t Real! It’s hyperbole, stacked upon nonsense, with nice sprinkle of “what the hell is he talking about!?!?” Michelle Malkin referred to it as fear-mongering. How right she is!
But this is nothing new. This is the entire strategy of the MSM, and the Statists, laid bare by President Obama. The strategy is to scare, cajole, and embarrass people into accepting the idea of Forced Universal Healthcare. The strategy, as of last night’s press conference, now involves making up doomsday scenarios regarding your children to get you to buy into this great lie of Forced Universal Healthcare. The strategy is to get you to buy in. For if you buy in, you never realize that this has been forced upon you – which is exactly what the Statist wants.
For the Statist, the worst thing you can do is have a mind. And not just have a mind, but use your mind. For the Statist, there is nothing but contempt, hatred and irrefutable loathing for the person who recognizes that they can think for themselves, can see the entire field before them and can rationally explain where things are going, what might happen, and how it will, or won’t work for them.
This is why I will not write about Forced Universal Healthcare, without using the word “Forced.” This is the defining moment in this debate, and its most insidious. The idea of forcing me to purchase insurance, and fining me if I don’t, is immoral, it’s disgusting and it’s wrong. The US Government is getting involved in the kindness business. They are dictating to me, and to all of us, the terms under which we have to take care of our neighbors. This administration, and this government, believe their job is to tell me how to be a moral person; that I must care for my fellow man, even if I don’t want to, and by force if necessary.
Is this true? Sen. Cardin (D-MD) says yes. In a townhall meeting, he stated, “I just think the overriding public interest is to require you and everyone in this country to have health insurance.”
If it was in the overriding public interest, we’d do it already. The worst thing, for the Statist, is for you to use your mind. So, they must work constantly to keep you on their task; That Forced Universal Healthcare is in the public interest, that doctors are only after profits with no interest in helping your child, that you deserve healthcare, that it should be free to you, that those evil rich people will pay for it. Just vote for us, and we’ll give you everything you want.
When the country was created, the Founding Fathers worked tirelessly to give us liberty. They were focused on one thing – freedom. They constructed a constitution that clarified, and quantified our rights. They recognized the need for government, and the evil that can happen if it goes unchecked. They gave us three branches of government, and checks and balances. When Ben Franklin was asked by a woman on the street what kind of government we were going to have, Franklin replied, “A Republic, if you can keep it.” It is obvious that the focus of the Founders was a government of, by and for the people, that was kept in check at all times.
The average life span at the time was 35 years. They could have been very worried about the need for healthcare for all the new citizens. They could have written into the constitution multiple provisions regarding government and healthcare, and how the government was to supply doctors and medicine to it’s people, free of charge and on demand.
But they didn’t. Our forefathers did not risk life and limb, take on a dictatorial king, and then convince a new, fledgling nation to fight and die for a lower deductable. They fought for freedom. They knew that Forced Universal Healthcare is not the purpose of government. Government is there to protect our most inalienable rights – Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Something the Statist would like you to forget.
