What We Mean By Gaslighting, And Why The Lies Told About Donald Trump Can Not Stand

Lies have been told. And those lies about President Trump – pushed by media and celebrities and political elites – have been allowed to take hold in America. And we must put an end to them. A decent society demands that lies be called out, and corrected. And those who lie must be called out, and admonished.

There are people out there who don’t like Donald Trump. There are people out there who don’t like what Donald Trump says or tweets. Those people exist, and those feelings are pretty normal; you aren’t going to like every person and you’re not going to like what every person has to say. However, if you dislike the President to the point you proactively and aggressively lie about what it is that the he has said to move your agenda? That is obscene. It is gaslighting.

The definition of gaslighting is to manipulate someone by psychological means into questioning their own sanity. Gaslighting by the media is pushing a narrative, theory or belief about a person or group of people that provides political advantage to another; and that group is the Democratic Party and the political Left. Nowhere is this more prevalent than the media  vs. President Trump and the GOP, and on no subject is it more prevalent than white supremacy and bigotry in the wake of the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton.

Rushing Red Flag Laws Is A Red Flag

Sometimes awful people do awful things. This is why I believe in protecting and defending myself, and the ones I love. Every single instance of every single horror does not lead me to a place where I, nor you, should have less rights. But rather, I lean to a place where we should ensure our rights and act upon them. We should be prepared.

After El Paso and Dayton, there will be a lot of conversation about Red Flag Laws, including Indiana’s Jake Laird Law. A Red Flag Law allows for the state authorities to remove firearms from the possession of a person who has been identified as mentally unstable (as the Jake Laird Law has described it, “dangerous individuals.”) My issue has never been with the concept of a Red Flag Law, my issue is how it is implemented.

If implementation means a law enforcement officer can simply say, “this person is unwell, so we are going to take their firearms,” I stand squarely in opposition. I oppose the idea that a police officer should be able to make that call in the moment.

AOC and the Democratic Party Assert Control of the New York Times

This story originally posted on wibc.com

It is time to give up the idea that The New York Times is representative of a Free Press. It is time to give up the idea that they are free to write their own headlines or do their own reporting. It is time to give up the idea that the NYT has the ability to engage in journalism in any independent or objective fashion. They are part and parcel of an attack mechanism in the United States, subject to the whims of their betters – better known as the Democratic Party. Take a look at The New York Times over the last 24 hours and ask this question: Is This How A Free Press Acts?

It starts with a headline– Trump Urges Unity vs Racism. That headline comes from the words of President Trump talking about the shootings in El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH:

In one voice, our nation must condemn racism, bigotry and white supremacy. These sinister ideologies must be defeated. Hate has no place in America. Hatred warps the mind, ravages the heart and devours the soul

– President Donald Trump

The political left looked at this headline, and sounded the alarm. Democratic Representative Ocasio-Cortez, Democratic Senators Kirsten Gillibrand, Cory Booker and other Democrats all said this headline was completely unacceptable. The near entirely of leftist Twitter exploded.

Here’s what happened on the

What kind of candidate do the Democrats want? If they nominate a Progressive will America vote for them? If they nominate a moderate, will the Democratic party vote for them?

Tony Katz hosts Eat! Drink! Smoke! presented by Fanimation.com. The debates left everyone with a comment, and with more questions about who the nominee will be than answers. Subscribe On iTunes! bit.ly/eatdrinksmoke

CNN and Playboy reporter Brian Karem was suspended from the White House for 30 days. This isn’t a story of Trump and the administration laying a smackdown on a reporter they don’t like. No, this is about how Karem acted at the White House…including threatening a guest of the President.

A review the Old Granddad 114 bourbon and the Davidoff Bellicoso “Special B” cigar, which can only be found (we believe) at Blend Bar Cigar locations across the country. Olive Garden has a $5 meal deal, but it might be no deal at all.

What Does The South Bend Police Department Think Of Mayor Pete Buttigieg?

Mayor and presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg has angered both the police in South Bend and the residents with his reaciton to a police involved shooting. In the Democratic debates, and on the campaign trail, Mayor Buttigieg has made comments angering police, intimating that they are racist and policing is based in systemic racism.

South Bend Fraternal Order of Police Preisdent Harvey Mills talked to Tony Katz about tensions in South Bend, how the police department has responded to Mayor Buttigieg’s statements (including when the Mayor sent the police department pizza) and how city residents are reacting.

The interviewed occured on July 23rd, and originally aired on Tony Katz Today.

Pelosi and Ocasio-Cortez Fight For The Car Keys

Originally posted on wibc.com

I made a mistake: Pelosi and Cortez are not battling for the soul of the Democratic party.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are both Progressives; hard-edged and hard core. Their socialist dream is shared between themselves, as it is with millions of activists.

More government. More control. More so-called equality. Less people being able to say out loud that the world envisioned by them is awful.

I realized my mistake when I said it on FOX News. In a conversation with Leland Vittert, referencing a column in the New York Times from Maureen Dowd, I said that Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Speaker Pelosi were locked in a battle for the soul of the party. I should have said that it was a battle for control of the party.

Tony Katz on FOX and Friends: Mayor Pete Buttigieg and the Pizza Peace Offering

Presidential candidate and Mayor Pete Buttigieg send pizza to police officers in his city of South Bend, IN. This was not well received by the police, which is extremely upset with Mayor Buttigieg for his constant claims that the police – and policing – are steeped in racism.

Tony Katz discussed the issue, and the emotional disconnect Buttigieg has from his constituents and voters, with Todd Piro on FOX and Friends .

Are These The 25 Best Beers In America?

USA Today made a list of what they say are the best beers in America. The problem with any list like this is that deciding the 25 best beers is way too pretentious. Just, as Tony Katz feels about it, not as pretentious as an IPA.

This is Eat! Drink! Smoke! Tony, along with Fingers Malloy, reviews Beer Barrel Bourbon from New Holland Spirits and the Arturo Fuente Double Chateau cigar. Eat! Drink! Smoke! is sponsored by Fanimation.com

Look, if you’re an IPA fan, there’s nothing wrong with that. Tony isn’t. Fingers isn’t. But that doesn’t take away from their huge popularity, and multiple appearances on the list.

And if you’re curious, Tony and Fingers prefer the stouts and the brown ales.
