Schumer is a failure

I direct you to Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY), and an email he sent out (see below) on behalf of Martha Coakley, a Democrat running for the vacant Senate seat in Massachusetts.  The seat came vacant when Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) passed away last year.  She is running against Republican Scott Brown.

I specifically direct you to the way that Scott Brown is described as, “…a far-right tea-bagger Republican.”

Sen. Schumer is a fool, and so are the people who vote for him.  However, his crass comments highlight something far worse than his inability to be a mensch.  They show that he simply doesn’t understand the American people.

The Tea Parties aren’t a bad thing.  They are a great thing!  The members of the Tea Party Movement aren’t renegades, terrorists, hate-mongers, misogynists, racists or any of the other lies that Janeane Garofalo, MSNBC or the New York Times like to throw out every day.  The members of the Tea Party Movement are the voice of America!  They demand common sense in Washington D.C.  (Which is too bad for Sen. Schumer!)  They demand fiscal responsibility, they demand smaller government, they love Capitalism, they believe in the Constitution.

Sen. Schumer doesn’t recognize that he is on the wrong side of destiny.  Sen Schumer is the past, and he is a failure.  Him, his ideas, and those of the like-minded Statists who hate it when Americans remember they have a spine, and won’t allow it to be bent in submission.

“A man can’t ride your back unless it’s bent.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Pet Goat – The Sequel

There are Statists who like to attack, vehemently, the decision by former President George W. Bush to continue reading the book “The Pet Goat” to school kids on September 11th, 2001.  The President was notified of the terrorist attack in New York, and, instead of running out of the room, sat for seven full minutes, and finished the book with the group of children assembled at a Sarasota, FL elementary school.

Michael Moore created the laughable “documentary” Farenheit 911, in which he discusses this exact moment in history, and derides President Bush for not making a scene, and running for the nearest exit.  (There are a lot of things you can go after President Bush for – border security, TARP, Iraq strategy – but this is just shallow nonsense, from a nonsense kind of guy.)

Now, it seems that the Obama Administration has it’s own Pet Goat moment.  Current National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) director Michael Leiter, after finding out about the attack on Christmas Day, decided to react with the political saavy of a drunk Gary Hart, and stayed on vacation…skiing.  The NCTC (created after the 911 Commission, and Leiter an appointee of former President Bush) has stated that it does not comment on the director’s schedule, which means no one really knows when Director Leiter returned.  What is clear, was that it was not Christmas Day, and it was not the next day.  We can safely assume that Director Leiter waited at least 48 hours to return home after learning about a terrorist attack on American soil.  48 Hours.  That’s 2880 minutes.  Or, 2873 minutes more than President Bush waited.

If we are going to start timing people on the reactions, then we are going to do it for everyone.  And after we do it, we’re going to honestly recognize the context in which that reaction time occurs.  President Bush was talking to young children, reading them a book.  He waited seven minutes.  Director Letier was on vacation, skiing.  He waited 2880 minutes.  (Also, President Bush was back in his office the same night – beating Director Leiter by 1440 minutes.)

And if all of this isn’t enough to get you to recognize the massive double standard, and the failure of Director Letier in the common sense reaction to a terrorist attack that the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center should have, then simply look at President Obama.  It took him 72 hours to respond to the terrorist attack on Christmas Day.

That’s 4320 minutes.

There’s Something Happening Here….

There has been a whirlwind of activity within the Democrat party this week.  The party that won with such “force” in 2008.  The party that has the power, controlling the House, the Senate and the White House.  The party that was going to save us from ourselves, the party that was going to bring honesty and integrity back to Washington, D.C., the party that cared.

The party whose members are running away, and starting to show the wear in their armor.

First it was Sen. Bryan Dorgan (D-ND) who decided that he won’t be seeking re-election.  This is big news, as their own internal polling must show them that the GOP has a very serious shot at taking the seat.  Then, it was an even bigger blow.  Perennial president candidate, and Countrywide Mortgage golden child Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) has decided that he will not seek re-election.

This, without question, is a problem for Democrats.  Two prominent leaders of the Democrat party are leaving…while they control all the power.  With Dorgan already trailing his not-even-announced challenger, and Peter Schiff being incredibly strong in his now used-to-be race against Dodd, how could the Democrats let this happen?  Was this a plan?  A strategy to change the balance of absolute power in Congress, so Democrats could have something to rail against (Republicans) when they can’t get their measures passed?  (It has taken them months to get this far with Forced Universal Health Care, and they control everything.  And, they still have months to go, and many more members to bribe and threaten!)  Or, is this the case of Democrats recognizing that they had their chance, and the failed miserably.  Why should Dodd run for re-election, when he is only going to get destroyed for his role in Countrywide, and for his horrible work vis-a-vis Wall Street as Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee?  It’s not like the President’s coattails are long enough these days to help him win that re-elect with ease.  The President’s actions, both domestically and on the world stage, have seen to his continued diminished capacity.  Dorgan might be feeling the same way.  Who else in Congress might be feeling that the once-prominent power of President Obama might have been already used up?

Possibly, Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

In being confronted about C-SPAN’s desire to cover the health care debate from beginning to end, Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) was asked about President Obama’s campaign promise to have  public access to the political process.  Her response was, simply put, not kind, nor respectful of a man who would have the power to help with re-election campaigns.

Pelosi, in answering the questions, stated, “There are a number of things he was for on the campaign trail…”

What does this mean?  That Obama lied during his campaign?  He lied to get elected?  He said things, but didn’t mean them?  He has gone back on promises before?  He can’t be trusted?  He’s just an everyday politician?  Speaker Pelosi doesn’t trust him?

Democrats leaving when they have all the power.  Alliances slowly crumbling.  A majority in turmoil.

There’s something happening here.  And what it is, ain’t exactly clear.

**Added** Now, Gov. Ritter (D-CO) has decided not to run for re-election.  One has to ask, what will we see tomorrow?

Socialism? Really?

Van Jones, the disgraced and discredited former Green Jobs Czar under President Obama, decided to ask rhetorically – in response to a question being asked to him about Marxism and the economy – “How’s that Capitalism working for you?”  He asked this question under the delusional belief that Capitalism is somehow the problem regarding the state of the economy.

Yesterday, reported that Venezuela, under their massively inept leader President Hugo Chavez, will begin rationing electricity this year.  From the article:

The new regulations came into effect January 1, with businesses required to comply with reduced consumption limits and authorities warning of forced power cuts and rate hikes if the measures are not followed.

So, let me ask the question now.  How’s that Socialism working for you?

(You can answer me when the power comes back on in your neighborhood.  I’ll wait.)

The Bowing Insanity

When President Obama bowed to the Saudi King, I thought it abhorrent, ignorant and simply dumb.  However, it was nothing compared to the “explanation” that it wasn’t a bow, put forth by Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, and others throughout the administration, and the Obama camp.

When President Obama bowed to the Japanese Emperor, I thought it was just crazy.  I said, out loud, Is there not one person on Obama’s staff who is willing to look him in the eye and say ‘Mr. President, you do not bow to other world leaders.  Stop it!'”

When President Obama bowed to the Chinese President, I lost my mind, and sent out this tweet, which simple stated, “STOP BOWING YOU FOOL!”

Seems that there is a cartoonist named Glenn McCoy who is willing to do what President Obama’s staff is simply too scared, or too dumb, to do.

Sometimes, nothing is funnier – or scarier – than the truth.

Rally Time!

I have the pleasure of speaking at a rally in Los Angeles this weekend.

On Saturday, November 21st at 12noon, I will be at the Doctor and Patient Healthcare Rally at the Federal Building on Wilshire.  More than a Tea Party, this is being put on by doctors who wanted to share their views on Obamacare.  Listen to doctors on stage, and throughout the crowd, tell you what will happen if healthcare is government-run in the United States.  The event is being emceed by Hugh Hewitt, and I will be introducing him, as well as speaking on the subject of Americans and Healthcare.  The event is also being done in conjunction with Docs 4 Patient Care, which is sponsoring rallies around the country that day, and has all of the information on their website.  You can also see the Facebook page.

I hope to see you all there.  Please make sure to introduce yourself.

The same old Leftist playbook – Pin It On Palin!

A very obvious theme has developed fro the Statists last night.  The days of “Blame It On Bush” are over. We now live in the age of “Pin It On Palin!”

From The Huffington Post:
(Don’t forget to check out the “story” from Shannyn Moore.)

From The Daily Kos:

From Twitter:

@raquenel Well done Palin!  NY went to a Democrat.  Brilliant!
@sethmeyers21 NY-23 Palin-0
@akorengold (responding to someone else)…At least the Democrat won in NY-23.  #Sarah Palin’s powers are not as great as they might be.

Same old Leftist playbook.  Same old leftist play.

My Newest Sponsor

Everyone, meet Cheap Humidors.  I met them via Twitter, as they responded to a tweet I put out about cigars.  I told them about what I was doing, and they decided to jump on board.

The humidor is fantastic, the etching is incredible  and I’m thrilled to have Brian, and the entire Cheap Humidors team, with me.  If you’re in the market for a humidor, lighter or cigars, order from them directly.

It’s Just The Beginning

Below is a letter I wrote to the members of the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition.  While I am not a big believer in official tea party organizations, I wanted to relay some thoughts I had on what the next 365 days mean to all of us.

Feel free to share it as you see fit.

Hello all,

Just a reminder that, regardless of what happens today, it is only the beginning.  A first step, in what will need to be millions of steps, in order to bring about the kind of country that once again celebrates The Four Basics – Constitution, Capitalism, Fiscal Responsibility and Smaller Government.

For all of us, regardless of individual differences on policy, promotion or even personalities, and regardless of who the victors are tonight, we have 365 days to make the difference.  The “national” level will never mean as much as we do in our local communities.  We must keep our eyes on that local and statewide prize.  Empower fellow Americans to realize they can turn the country from this Statist slide, enable fellow Americans to start Tea Parties and discussion groups where they live, and provide information that allows fellow Americans to debate the issues with confidence, and contact their representatives with conviction.

This is only the beginning.  I wish us all well as the real journey begins today.  And I pray for our success.
