AOC and the Democratic Party Assert Control of the New York Times

It is time to give up the idea that The New York Times is representative of a Free Press. It is time to give up the idea that they are free to write their own headlines or do their own reporting. It is time to give up the idea that the NYT has the ability to engage in journalism in any independent or objective fashion. They are part and parcel of an attack mechanism in the United States, subject to the whims of their betters – better known as the Democratic Party. Take a look at The New York Times over the last 24 hours and ask this question: Is This How A Free Press Acts?

It starts with a headline– Trump Urges Unity vs Racism. That headline comes from the words of President Trump talking about the shootings in El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH:

In one voice, our nation must condemn racism, bigotry and white supremacy. These sinister ideologies must be defeated. Hate has no place in America. Hatred warps the mind, ravages the heart and devours the soul

– President Donald Trump

The political left looked at this headline, and sounded the alarm. Democratic Representative Ocasio-Cortez, Democratic Senators Kirsten Gillibrand, Cory Booker and other Democrats all said this headline was completely unacceptable. The near entirely of leftist Twitter exploded.

The New York Times dared to say something potentially complimentary about the President!?!? This can not stand!!

By saying Trump urges unity vs. racism, they’re not pushing the narrative that Trump is a bigot, a racist and a white supremacist. And certainly, they’re not doing enough to malign guns and gun rights in the United States. This is the kind of headline that makes people think that Donald Trump might actually be a human being.

In response to the onslaught The New York Times changed their headline. Trump Urges Unity vs Racism became Assailing Hate But Not Guns; Shifting the focus back to Trump being at fault for not focusing his ire at guns and gun laws and announcing his intention to do away with the Second Amendment.

Let’s go back to the question posed: Is This How a Free Press Acts?

They didn’t change the headline because they got something factually inaccurate. They changed the headline because they got something politically inaccurate. And then they have the audacity to say “All the News That’s Fit to Print.” It’s fit, only if AOC approves of it.

It is possible that good journalists may still exist at the Times, and may still present good stories and actual news in the future. But the apparatus that is the New York Times is not news. The New York Times is Democratic Party approved propaganda. The Democratic Party said, “this headline hurts us politically therefore you must change it” and The New York Times said, “Yes, master.”

That is not how a free press acts. This is not how a free press works.
